Our promise

What we never do

  • We never make up facts about your job. Anything you did not tell us, like the person in charge or the nearest clinic, becomes a highlighted line to fill in, not a guess.
  • We never add or change your steps. The JHA follows the steps you confirmed.
  • We only cite rules we have checked. Every rule is checked against the regulation text we keep on file. Rules for specific hazards appear only when your answers make them relevant; a few, like training and protective equipment, apply to every job.

Control order follows OSHA's hazard prevention guidance, which puts engineering solutions, including elimination or substitution, first. A JHA is a planning tool, not legal advice. Walk the site and go through each step with your crew before work starts.

Questions

Common questions, short answers

Something not covered here? Email help@jobstepsafety.com and we will answer.

How long does it take?

The form takes about five minutes. Your JHA usually arrives by email within 15 minutes of paying. If it has not arrived within one business day, email us and we will sort it out.

Can I edit it?

Yes. You get an editable Word file as well as the PDF, so you can change anything to match your site.

Which states can I order for?

Work in the 29 states where federal OSHA covers private employers. The 21 states that run their own OSHA-approved plan for private employers (such as California, Washington and Michigan) are not offered yet, because their rules can differ.

Is it only for construction?

Yes, for now. Every JHA is written to the federal OSHA construction rules in 29 CFR Part 1926.

What if I am not sure about something?

Pick "Not sure". It becomes a highlighted line on the JHA to confirm on site before work starts, instead of a guess.

What if something is wrong, or I need a change?

Reply to your delivery email within 14 days and we fix it and resend it free, including changes to your steps or answers. Because each JHA is custom work you review before paying, we do not refund a change of mind, but we refund in full if we fail to deliver or cannot fix a problem within 3 business days. See the terms for details.

Does this make my job OSHA compliant?

No document can promise that. The JHA lists hazards, controls and the rules that apply to your steps. Compliance depends on doing the work that way on site, which is why it ends with a crew sign-on.
