Privacy policy
We collect as little as we can and use it only for the reasons below. We never sell your information. Questions or deletion requests: help@jobstepsafety.com.
What we collect and why
- Email for a free editable download. When you download a Word template, we ask for your email and send you a copy of the file. We use that email only to send the file: no newsletter, no sales emails, and we never share it. We store it with the name of the file, your browser remembers it so a second download is one click, and our analytics counts that a download happened.
- Custom JHA orders. Your answers (task, trade, state, steps and job details), the optional cover details you enter, your email and name from checkout, and the document we prepare. We use them to prepare and deliver your JHA, to make fixes you ask for, and to keep order records. If you leave Prepared by blank, we use the name you pay with. Your answers are saved when you go to checkout; if you never pay, that record is deleted after 30 days.
- Talk pack orders. Your email and name from checkout, to deliver your download links and keep order records.
- Usage analytics. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity record how pages are used (pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, device type, approximate location) using cookies, and Clarity can replay a visit as a session recording. We use this only to improve the site. They run only on jobstepsafety.com.
Your form answers are also saved in your own browser while you fill in the Custom JHA form, so you can come back to it. You can clear them by clearing your browser's site data.
Who processes it for us
- Stripe processes payments and receives your task description as the item description on your receipt. We never receive your card details.
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Supabase stores orders and download emails.
- Resend sends our emails.
- Anthropic provides the AI models that suggest steps when you ask for suggestions (your task and trade), draft the hazards and controls for a Custom JHA from your answers, and review that draft. Your information is sent for those purposes only.
- Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity provide usage analytics.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and fixes, and download emails until you ask us to delete them. Analytics data is kept according to each provider's settings.
Your choices
- Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing help@jobstepsafety.com. Order records we must keep for accounting are kept but not used for anything else.
- Block analytics cookies in your browser settings or with a content blocker; the site still works.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update this page and the date above.
